Literally meaning, a collection of trees, the Arboretum is a feature of many of the larger gardens. Often spectacular when displaying huge mature specimen trees many arboretums can be hidden in the undergrowth becoming almost entirely lost in the woods on some larger old estates. Nevertheless their restoration is a very worthy but sometimes time consuming task often yielding spectacular results when combined with proper planning and tree surgery where necessary.
Example of such work can be seen in Woodstock Gardens where the grounds were lost in commercial forestry planting and laurel which when removed revealed majestic walks of Noble Fir and Monkey Puzzle as well as some towering exotic specimen trees such as the mighty Sequoia.
In our restoration work we have dealt with legacy parkland landscapes and remnants of old arboretums in consultation with arborists where care and attention to the bigger picture can yield stunning results.
